Petition signatures and Event Attendees are synchronized to Engaging Networks via the Engaging Networks' Services API.
Initial Connection
To enable the integration you will have to create a Sign Form page in your Engaging Networks (EN) account with the following fields:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Postcode
- Country
- Phone Number
- Opt in
You may also need to check the Enable submit button checkbox to save the page.
You'll need to note the page's ID. You can find this ID by looking at the page's public URL, which will have the format: https://<your EN domain>/page/<page ID>/subscribe/1.
Once the new page has been set up, go to your ControlShift's admin page > Settings > Integrations. Click Add below Engaging Networks.
On that page, enter the Page ID. You can use the same Page ID for both signature and attendee syncing, or you can sync signatures and attendees to different pages in Engaging Networks.
After adding the page IDs, we'll also need an API Key associated with your account. If you're unsure how to find the API key, check out the Engaging Networks help documentation or reach out to the Engaging Networks support team.
Once you've entered the appropriate information, click Save.
Safe List ControlShift IPs
For the sync to work appropriately, our IP addresses must be safe listed in Engaging Networks. The IP addresses are listed on the Settings page and we link to Engaging Networks' help documentation about safe listing IP addresses.
Field Mappings
Depending on your Engaging Networks settings, custom field mappings may be required. Field mappings tell ControlShift where to send the information that's generated on ControlShift.
The Engaging Networks Field Name should match the field's label when viewing the form builder within the Engaging Networks admin view.
Please note: Capitalization and spacing must match between the two systems.
Sync Log
Once the integration is working, user' signature or attendee information will be synced to the appropriate page's supporters list. You can see the sync log from Settings > Integrations > Engaging Networks > Sync Log.
