Or admins can override content related to local groups by going to CMS > Content > Local Groups.
When users are sent to the local group collection's lookup page, they'll enter their location to search for their closest group.
For local groups that are bound to a geographic collection – this could be UK parliamentary districts, Swedish Kommuner – the No Local Group for Geographically Bound Local Chapter Collection message is shown when a group has not already been created for that constituency.
For local groups that are not bound to constituencies – and these are the majority of local groups – the No Local Group for Geographically Unbound Local Chapter Collection message is shown when there isn't a group near the user's search criteria.
If there is a local group near the search query, but the user decides they want to create a new group instead of joining the local group, they'll see the New Local Group message. Each of these messages provides some information about the goal of the local group and their responsibilities as an organizer and asks them to confirm that they want to set up the group.
If the user decides to create a new group for that location, they'll see the Introductory Message on New Local Chapter Form. This content usually introduces the what a group is and how it can be used. As part of the new campaign form, users will be asked, "What do you want to tell prospective members about your group?". The Default Description for New Groups will be automatically pre-filled into this text box, but it can be edited by the applicant. The text entered here will be used at the top of the local group's page.
At the end of this form, right before submitting their application for a new group, the user will see the Closing Message on New Local Chapter Form. You can use this space to thank the user for their interest in setting up a local group and inform them about the next steps.
After submitting the form, the user will be shown the Local Group Waiting for Approval Text, which informs them that their application will be reviewed by a member of staff.
Members of existing groups can also apply to be organizers of their group. To do so, they need to click the Apply to become an organiser link from the group page.
When they do, they'll be shown the Introductory Message for Organiser Applicants. This is displayed on an intermediary page where they are asked to confirm that they are interested in applying to be an organizer. After they confirm their intent, they'll be asked to answer some questions about themselves. When they submit the form, they will be shown the Organiser Request Waiting for Approval Text. This text informs them that their application will be reviewed by a member of staff.
All local group organizers need to be approved or denied by organization staff. The New Organiser Request Pending Moderation email is sent to admins when a user requests to become the organizer of a local group.
If the organizer request is denied, the user will receive the Organiser Request Denied Notification Email. If the request is approved, and if they are the first organizer approved for the local group, they will receive the Initial Organiser Request Approved Notification Email. If they are approved as an organizer, and the group already has an organizer, they'll receive the Organiser Request Approved Notification Email.
When a user decides to join a local group, or is automatically added to a local group after RSVPing to a group-sponsored event, they will receive the New Member Welcome Email. This email is set globally from here, but can be overridden at a collection level by org admins, or overridden at the local group email by a group organiser.
The Invitation Email Subject and Invitation Email Content are used in the email that is sent when a member of a group invites one of their friends to join the group.
If a member of a group has opted out of receiving notification of every message posted to the group, but instead has chosen to receive a daily digest, they will receive the Activity Notification message when new posts are added to the group page.
If a message posted in a local group forum is flagged as inappropriate, admins will be asked to moderate the message. During moderation, admins can choose to remove the member from the local group. If the user is removed, the user will receive the Notification Email Sent to Member After Being Removed from Local Group by Admin email.
Admins can also choose to require premoderation for users submitting messages to the group forum. If the user has been marked as requiring premoderation, when the submit a post to the group's forum, they'll receive the Notification Email Sent to Member When Submitting New Message That Requires Moderation email.
When group creation is hidden within the collection, the No Local Group for Geographically Bound Local Group Collection text is used if a user searches for a location without a local group.
