Emails to Petition Creators
After a new petition is created, the toolset will automatically begin sending the petition creator a series of emails. The emails in this series are triggered by the petition reaching various milestones. These emails can be updated from CMS Content (more information on updating this content is included here). The following chart explains when each email is sent.

Promote Email: Encourage |
("Only 10 to go") Encourages user to keep sharing the petition and reminds them about the blast email tool. |
When the petition reaches 90 signatures. |
Email When Petition Events Are Enabled |
("Next step for [Petition Title]: Hold an event") Informs the petition creator that the events tab is now available and suggests that they create an event to help support their campaign. |
When a petition reaches 100 signatures AND is moderated to good or above. |
Promote Email: Reminder When Dormant |
("Checking in about your [Petition Title] petition") Reminder about the campaign, tips about reaching out to their existing networks, and sharing on social media. |
Sent one week and two weeks after the petition is launched, if the petition is dormant. (A dormant petition is a petition that hasn't received any signatures in seven days.) |
Pre-moderation Email for New Campaigns |
("Your petition is being reviewed: [Petition Title]") Lets the user know that someone will review their petition soon. |

("Your petition has been approved: [Petition Title]") Informs user know that their petition has been approved and provides tips on getting signatures. |

User Account Confirmation Email |
("Confirmation Instructions") Asks the petition creator to confirm their user account, which is required before they can send emails to supporters. |
When a petition creator goes to email their supporters, if they have not already confirmed their account, they'll be sent this confirmation email. |
Inappropriate content notification message for petitions |
("Your campaign has been marked as inappropriate") Informs the petition creator that their petition has been marked as inappropriate and asks them to edit the text to bring it into community guidelines. |
When a petition is moderated to inappropriate. |
Petition letter ready for download notification |
("Petition is ready to deliver") Informs the user that the asynchronous generations of their delivery document has finished. |
When the petition creator requests the delivery PDF or CSV for a petition with more than 500 signatures. ∆ |
* The petition is created after the user enters information into the petition creation form and clicks to save. The user is then brought to the petition review screen where they can review the information they've entered and add an image. If the user leaves before hitting the Next button on this page, the petition is not launched (and is kept as a draft in the My Campaigns page). Once the user returns and clicks Next the petition is launched and the user is brought to the petition's Just Launched page.
** Only used for organizations that have asked to have pre-moderation enabled.

Emails to Petition Signers
In addition to the emails set to petition creators, there are also various emails that may be sent to petition signers.
