To access the Landing Page's settings page, go to the admin homepage > Pages > the name of the Landing Page > Settings. The options in this Settings page control the display of various pages associated with the Landing Page. Leadership settings are not included on this page (or this help center article).
Homepage Content
The settings in this section deal with basic Landing Page information, including how the Landing Page is (optionally) displayed on the site's homepage.
- Featured: If this toggle is set to yes, the Landing Page will be displayed on the platform's homepage. The Landing Page will take the first slot in the featured petitions section. Only the most recently featured Effort/Landing Page will be displayed on the homepage.
- Title: This is the title of the Landing Page. Note that updating the title of the Landing Page WILL NOT update the Landing Page's URL. The Landing Page's URL cannot be updated after the Landing Page is created.
- Description: The Landing Page's description is displayed on the Landing Page's hub and new campaign pages. When the Landing Page is featured on the homepage, the description will be displayed where a petition's 'why' text is normally shown.
- Add an Image: This image will be shown on the Landing Page's hub page. When the Landing Page is featured on the homepage, the image will be displayed where a petition's image is normally shown.
- Custom Goal of Petition Signatures: Like petitions, we normally increment Landing Page signatures automatically. However, if you'd like to set a custom goal for this Landing Page, you can enter it here. When entered, this goal will be displayed on the Landing Page's hub and landing pages. When the Landing Page is featured on the homepage, this goal will be displayed where the petition's signature goal is normally shown.
When you've finished updating this section click Save. To reset any text to the default, click the trash icon.
Landing Page
The settings in this section deal with the Landing Page's landing page. The landing page is the Landing Page's map page. Unlike with Efforts, the Landing Page's landing page is generally not the most-used of the two public directory pages. Also unlike Efforts, the Landing Page's landing page does not, by default, allow users to enter the recruitment series. To create a new campaign, users will need to go to the Landing Page's hub page.
From this page, users can search for local campaigns.
- Show map: when this toggle is set to yes, we'll show a map on the landing page. When this toggle is set to no, we'll only show the search box and sidebar.
- Search method: the settings in this dropdown determine what petitions we show when someone enters a search query (usually their location).
- Closest - when this strategy is chosen, we'll just return the closest campaign.
- Country - when this strategy is chosen, we'll show the correct country based on the search input regardless of if there's a closer campaign. So if a member searches for New York City, we'll return a United States campaign, and if a member searches for Adelaide, we'll return an Australian campaign, etc.
- Region/State - when this strategy is chosen, we'll return the correct region or state based on the search input regardless of if there's a closer campaign. So if a member searches for New York City, we'll return the New York State campaign and if a member searches for Adelaide, we'll return the South Australia campaign.
- Keyword Search (not location based) - when this strategy is chosen, we'll search for keywords in the petitions' titles and text.
- Closest - when this strategy is chosen, we'll just return the closest campaign.
- Distance Limit: If you're using the Closest search strategy, you can set a limit on the distance to search for campaigns. If there are no results within the search radius, the user will be told that there are no matching campaigns. When you've updated the distance limit, click Save.
- Landing Page Welcome Text: This text is displayed at the top of the landing page, above the search box. (See the image at the top of this section.) This section accepts HTML, so you can format the text in this section and include images, links, etc.
- How This Works: This text is displayed in the right sidebar of the landing page. (See the image at the top of this section.) You can use this section to provide campaign details, instructions, etc. This section accepts HTML.
- Label for 'Sign Petition' button in search results: When a user searches for their location, they'll usually be brought directly to the petition's signature page. This setting overrides a screen that is used for Efforts, but is not generally used for Landing Pages. (This button and the page it's on will only be shown if you remove a local leader from an existing Landing Page campaign.)
When you've finished updating this section click Save. To reset any text to the default, click the trash icon.
Hub Page
The settings in this section deal with the Landing Page's hub page.

The hub page lists the campaigns included in the Landing Page. From here users can search for their relevant campaign or create a new campaign.
- Add an image: The image added here is displayed at the top of the hub page. You may want to use a campaign-specific banner image.
Note: In the hub page image above, the banner image, added from this Hub Page settings section is the image of a bull. There is also an optional image which can be included in the right sidebar. Above, the image of the lake in a park is added from the Homepage Content section. - Show progress bar: This toggle determines whether we show the Landing Page's signature progress bar on the Landing Page's hub page. By default, we do not show the progress bar, but you can turn it on from here.
- Default sort order for petitions: this dropdown determines the sort order that we use to display the petitions.
- Created At: This is the default sort order. When this option is chosen, the most recently created petitions will be displayed first.
- Signature Count: When this option is chosen, the petitions with the highest signature counts will be displayed first.
- Created At: This is the default sort order. When this option is chosen, the most recently created petitions will be displayed first.

The options available here are:
- Petition pages link back to: on petition pages we normally link back to one of the Landing Page's public directory pages. This dropdown allows you to choose where the link should direct users to:
- Hub page: Users will be directed to the hub page, which lists the petitions, and allows users to create new campaigns.
- Landing page: Users will be directed to the landing page, which includes the map.
- Nowhere: we'll remove the link from the petition page.
Petition Emails
In this section organization admins can override the emails that are sent when people take action on a petition in the Landing Page. Note: the email templates included here do not include the emails that are sent to users who create petitions in the Landing Page. To override the emails sent to petition creators, go to the Landing Page Leadership Settings page.
The templates included here are:
- Thanks for signing petition email: this message, along with the Thank Signer Forward to Friends Email, is sent to users after they sign a petition. Both messages are included in that email. This message is shown first, followed by the forward to friends email.
- Thank Signer Forward to Friends Email: this message, along with the Thanks for signing petition email, is sent to users after they sign a petition. Both messages are included in that email. The thanks for signing email is shown first, followed by this message.
- Share By Email body text: this message is used when a site visitor clicks any of the share by email buttons on the petition page. These buttons are seen near the bottom of petition page, in the after-signing social share popup, after signing in the signature sidebar, and in the petition creator's 'just launched' tools.
- Initial email to decision maker: subject header: this is the subject line that's used in the initial email to decision makers.
- Initial email to decision maker: body text: when notifications are first enabled for decision makers, we send an initial email informing them that they've been named as the decision maker for a new campaign. This message is used in that notification email.
