Platform
Updates / Bug Fixes
- Infrastructure improvements.
- We've updated the recent actions cookies so that it works the same for events and petitions. Previously, when a user signed a petition and then went to another petition, their signature details would be pre-filled. If a user RSVPed to an event and then went to a petition, their information would not be pre-filled. Now, RSVPing to an event will trigger the one-click recent signatures behavior.
- We've updated the 'time' ago translation. Previously, we used the "[time] ago" order in all languages, even if the words should have been in a different order (e.g. "hace [time]" in Spanish). This is now updated. †
- For organizations operating in more than one language, we're now alphabetizing languages in the language dropdown menu.
Petitions
Updates / Bug Fixes
- We've updated the graphs used throughout the platform, including the signatures graph on a petition's admin page.
- Following an A/B test, we've added social proof to the post-signing social share ask. With this update, the social share buttons will shown on the left side of the modal and people who have recently shared the petition on social media or via email will be on the right side of the modal. Our test found that including the list of recent sharers increased sharing by more than 5%.
Events
Updates / Bug Fixes
- We've updated the graphs used throughout the platform, including the attendees graph on an event's admin page.
- Users who RSVPed to an Arabic or Hebrew event while viewing the event page in a left-to-right language were receiving an email in the language they were viewing the site in but with right-to-left margins. Users will now receive the thank you for RSVPing email in the language they RSVPed in, with the correct margins.
- We've overhauled and rewritten the calendar and all events lookup pages. The new pages have the same styles and feels, but use the updated technology and components that we're also using on the local organizing map (found at
/local
). This has a few additional benefits and updates:
- the map on the lookup pages will no longer have a gray bar at the top or the bottom when the default zoom doesn't fit exactly.
- we've added a new toggle for the event list, and visitors can now include or exclude virtual events. †
- the social share icons were previously broken but are now fixed.
- virtual events are now included in location search results.
- the lookup pages have better pagination control.
- the user dropdown menu is no longer hidden behind the location search bar.
- when viewing in Arabic and Hebrew, the rounded edges for the search bar and search button are on the correct sides.
- We've updated the way the local organizing map is displayed when visiting the
/local
page on a landscape-oriented mobile.
- For organizations importing MobilizeAmerica events, we now support masking events' titles and descriptions with default text. This may be useful for organizations that need to ensure candidate names don't appear on their main ControlShift site. To set default text, go to Settings > Integrations > MobilizeAmerica and enter the generic title/description. †
- Following an A/B test, we've added social proof to the post-RSVP social share ask. With this update, the social share buttons will shown on the left side of the modal and people who have recently shared the event on social media or via email will be on the right side of the modal. Our test found that including the list of recent sharers increased sharing by more than 5%.
Nothing new in groups or VisitThem.
† This feature required new text strings. If you're using the platform in a language other than English, you may need to provide updated translations.
