Platform
Updates / Bug Fixes
- For organizations using ActionKit, we're now including a user's ControlShift ID in the data we sync to ActionKit. When users take action, their ControlShift Member ID will be included in AK's Custom User Fields section.
- For organizations using ActionKit, we're now syncing labels to ActionKit. Labels are added from the petition's admin page and will be included in the Import Page's Tag section. Please note that labels longer than 255 characters will be truncated and labels with emojis may not sync correctly.
- For organizations using EveryAction, we've changed the way our event ingest works. Now,
organizations can tag events that should be included in the all events list and the local organizing map (which is found on the/local
page). Once you've created the tag within EveryAction and added it to the appropriate events, you can finish setting up the event ingest from Settings > Integrations > EveryAction > Event Ingest. † - Some columns, including user_ip and user_agent, were removed from the admin-initiated platform-wide export of all signatures. This change helps to reduce the size of these exports to a more manageable level. These fields can still be found in the per-petition signature export available to admins.
- For organizations operating in multiple languages, custom global fields on the My Account page would sometimes switch languages. (e.g., the custom field would sometimes appear in the platform's default language regardless of the language the user was viewing their account page in). This has been fixed.
- We've updated the "Not [Name]?" log out link that's shown to users when one-click signing is enabled to make cookie deletion more reliable.
Petitions
Updates / Bug Fixes
- For large petitions, anonymized signatures are now included in the delivery PDF. Previously, we were skipping though signatures when generating the PDF. Now, all anonymized signatures will be included at the end of the PDF using the privacy rules that the organization has set for anonymized signatures.
- We've updated the custom PDF generator so that it works with anonymized signatures. Previously anonymized signatures were excluded from custom PDFs, but they'll now be included.
- We've updated the way anonymized signatures appear in signature exports. Previously when a signature was anonymized, we were updating the signature's
created_at
timestamp to match the time of the anonymization. That made matching the anonymized action to data in other systems more difficult. Now, thecreated_at
time will remain the time that the signature was initially created, while theupdated_at
time will reflect when the signature was anonymized. - When users signed a petition in one language while viewing the site in another language, the thank you for signing email was a combination of both languages. We've updated this behavior so that the thank you for signing email is always fully in the language of the signature (i.e. the language that the signer was viewing the site in at the time of their signature).
Events and Groups
New
- It is now possible for organizations to embed the local organizing map (found at
[yourorganization.org]/local
) on external sites. To get started, go to your organization's Settings page > Local Map. From this page, you can customize the map by automatically focusing it on a particular location and choosing what information should be included on the map. Then, just add the resulting script to the page where you want the map to appear. †
Updates / Bug Fixes
- The local organizing map (found at
/local
) was invisible when viewing the page in an RTL language. The map is now visible again.
Nothing new in VisitThem.
† This feature required new text strings. If you're using the platform in a language other than English, you may need to provide updated translations.
