Platform
Updates / Bug Fixes
- Infrastructure updates.
- When a user searches for their location on the
/local
page and there are no results (or if the user adds filters that leave no results), we show a more appropriate message and prompt the user to create an event. †
- We released a new authenticated API endpoint that provides information about the partnerships that have been created on the platform. More info.
- We've released new documentation that explains how to set up a ControlShift + Redshift integration. More info is here: https://developers.controlshiftlabs.com/#controlshift-to-redshift-pipeline and an example Terraform plan is available: https://github.com/controlshift/bulk-data-example.
- We've updated workflows for users who try to sign into accounts that are missing required information. Instead of showing an error message, those users will now be asked to enter the relevant information as part of the log in workflow.
- We’re now tracking when someone shares an event or petition on social media or via email. When a user clicks a share button, we’ll automatically assign a randomly-generated shareclick ID. Using bulk data webhooks, organizations can use that shareclick ID to see how many signatures/attendees result from an individual share. This data is stored for 90 days and when user data is deleted, information about their shareclicks is deleted too. More info.
Petitions
Updates / Bug Fixes
- We've made more pieces of platform content editable by organizations. This includes the: Start a Campaign button text (in the header and on the homepage), the sentence below the start a campaign button on the carousel ("We'll connect you to help and tools every step of the way."), the New Campaign title on the new campaign page, the text of the steps chevron on the new campaign pages, and the just launched petition creator prompt ("Your campaign is live. Let's grow it!").
- We've updated the error message that's shown when admins are unable to move a petition into an effort. The new message should explain why it's failing, instead of just letting you know that it has failed. †
Events
New
- We've released support for automatically creating events for different partnerships within a single calendar. When sending supporters to calendars, you can now include a partner parameter, for example:
?partner=foo-bar
(where foo-bar is the partner slug). When an event is created from a URL with a partner parameter, the event will be associated with the partner and will use the same settings that you've set for the partner. Here's an example: https://demo.controlshiftlabs.com/calendars/national-day-of-action-against-fracking?partner=n-da.
Updates / Bug Fixes
- We've released support for overriding the offline attendees PDF. This may be useful for organizations who want to collect specific information from offline attendees or need to include specific language for legal compliance. This setting can be configured from Settings > Options. †
Nothing new in groups or VisitThem.
† This feature required new text strings. If you're using the platform in a language other than English, you may need to provide updated translations.
