Platform
New
- Users can now share events and petitions via Facebook messenger. More information. †
- We've added a new deliverability tab to your organization's Settings page. This tab allows organizations to quickly configure SPF, DKIM, and rDNS records for your platform, which will improve email deliverability. More information. †
Updates / Bug Fixes
- We've released a new API endpoint that allows developers to see schemas for the incremental/nightly CSV exports on a per-table basis. More information.
- For signatures or RSVPs with postcodes, we're now also geocoding that postcode into an approximate latitude/longitude. This was a first step to allowing petitions to be promoted locally.
- Admins can now designate a promoted petition as 'local'. Local petitions will only be promoted to signers whose postcode places them within 10 km of the petition's location. Once a petition has been added to the promoted petitions list, you can designate it as a local petition by going to the org admin homepage > Settings > Promoted Petitions and clicking "Make Local." †
- We've updated the
/local
page to support filtering by groups or events.
- For organizations who wish to link to an external Terms and Conditions/Terms of Use page, we now allow them to designate the external URL in their org's settings page. This will up date the Terms and Conditions link that we show on the member sign up form. (Previously, that link always used the
/tos
page content, even if the TOS page was hidden from the footer links.) †
Petitions
Updates / Bug Fixes
- We've added an
ended_at
timestamp to the petitions table, which will allow organizations to quickly find recently ended petitions. - We've made a few updates to the social share prompt, which is shown after someone signs a petition, based on the results of a series of a/b tests. The text of the share ask now includes the user's first name, the buttons are stacked, and include the social network's logo/colors.
Events
Updates / Bug Fixes
- We've fixed an issue where some geocoded events did not have an attached country. This was causing these events to not be shown appropriately on maps and lookup pages.
- We've added support for including a message for prospective hosts at the top of the new event form page. (This feature mirrors the new petition lede, versions of which can be seen here and here.) If you'd like to add text to the new event form, you can do so by going to the admin homepage > Settings > Content > Events > New event lede.
- We now allow events to be moved into and out of calendars. To add or remove an event's calendar associations, go to the event's Admin page > Details tab > Associations section. †
Groups
Updates / Bug Fixes
- When a site visitor sends a message to a group organizer, we now include the message sender's email address in the notification email for group organizers so that they're actually able to respond. †
Nothing new in VisitThem.
† This feature required new text strings. If you're using the platform in a language other than English, you may need to provide updated translations.
