Platform
Updates / Bug Fixes
- Infrastructure updates.
- Updated translations.
- For organizations that have signed our GDPR DPA, we now allow you to enter your own Mapbox token to enable the
/local
page. To get started go to your organization's Settings > Integrations page. †
Please note: as with all other services on the Integrations page, Mapbox is not considered an authorized subprocessor under ControlShift's DPA. We strongly encourage all organizations to independently verify third-party tools for their security and GDPR compliance.
Organizations who have not signed a DPA with us will still be able to access the/local
page using our ControlShift Mapbox token.
- We've added a new option to our Privacy page which controls whether the offline action pages are visible to petition creators and event hosts. Previously, these pages were hidden with CSS overrides, but it's now possible for an organization to update this setting on their own. †
- We've released a new variable that makes it easier to include WhatsApp sharing in your event or petition emails. More info.
- We fixed an issue that was preventing admins from uploading images in the moderation queue.
- We received scattered reports of users being unable to successfully reset their password when they hadn't previously consented to the data processing agreement. We've updated how we handle the password reset flow, so users should be able to successfully reset their passwords. If you receive reports of users still having issues, please send us a support email.
- When a
utm_campaign
parameter is present in a URL, we'll also include it in the links generated by the sharing buttons.
Petitions
Updates / Bug Fixes
- We've updated the filters available on an Effort's petition list page to include the 'no leader' filter.
- We've updated our promoted petitions feature to give smarter suggestions for other petitions a signer may be interested in. Now, after a user signs a campaign, we'll show them the promoted petition with the most categories in common with the petition they've just signed.
- We've released a new feature that allows admins to anonymize a petition. When a petition is anonymized, creator and signer information is removed from the petition but the signature total remains. The petition is also set to ended and the signature form is hidden. Anonymizing a petition cannot be undone, and more information about this feature will be posted in the help center. †
Events
Updates / Bug Fixes
- We fixed an issue where the "Pre-moderation email for new events" and "New event approved email" templates included a first name variable that was not being used. We've updated the variable and the first name is now coming through.
- We've released a new feature that allows hosts to recruit attendees offline. This feature could be useful in a door-to-door canvass, or as a sign in sheet for any unexpected attendees at an event. Organizations who have offline signatures disabled have had this feature automatically hidden. †
- We've added support for the bulk upload of attendees. This feature mirrors the bulk CSV upload for petitions signers and is similarly somewhat hidden in the UI. To use the uploader, go to the admin view of the event and append
/attendee_uploads/new
. (For example: https://demo.controlshiftlabs.com/org/events/resistance-summer-in-monte-rio/attendee_uploads/new) Only users with the appropriate team permissions will be able to use the uploader. †
- We've updated the workflow for offline event hosts. Now, when these hosts are asked to create an account, we'll also collect the organization's global custom fields information.
Groups
Updates / Bug Fixes
- For organizations working in multiple countries, we've changed the default map that we use on the group lookup page. Previously, the map was centered on (0,0) but was zoomed in such that all you could see was ocean. The new map is still centered on (0,0) but is zoomed out so that continents are visible.
VisitThem
Updates / Bug Fixes
- We've added timestamps to the list of information available about visits that is available to admins. Admins will now be able to see when a user signed up to host or join a visit, as well as when they submitted their report back.
† This feature required new text strings. If you're using the platform in a language other than English, you may need to provide updated translations.
