Platform
New
- Admins can now ban users from the platform. Previously, it was possible for admins to lock accounts (which also happened automatically if we thought that the account was being hacked/used in a malicious way), but going through the password reset process would unlock the account. Now, admins can ban users (from the user's member page). Banned users are immediately logged out of the site and will not be able to log back in. †
Updates / Bug Fixes
- Previously we allowed organizations to override the telephone number label on the petition signature page. We now allow the field to be overridden on new account, event RSVP, and group membership forms. Each of these pieces of content is in Settings > Content.
- When moderating blast emails, bolded message text was not being shown as bold in the moderation queue. It is now.
- We've released two new API endpoints that allow organizations to plot where events/groups are located: https://developers.controlshiftlabs.com/#get-organizing-locations-points. This is part of a larger project that we're currently working on.
- When a user encountered an error on the blast email page, we were showing the error message at the top of the page, which meant that it could be easily missed. We've moved error messages to be shown right above the action buttons.
- When a user canceled logging in via Facebook, we'd show an error page. We're now gracefully sending people back to the log in/sign up page.
- When a user was removed from a team, that team would no longer show up as a team that they could be invited to join. We've updated the code, so previous team status doesn't affect future team invitations.
- Some users (basically anyone not using Chrome on Mac) were not being treated to our excellent Graphik font in the organization admin pages. Also, notes we'd left you in bold were just showing up in normal font weight. This is now fixed.
Petitions
Updates / Bug Fixes
- The share on Facebook/share on Whatsapp buttons on just launched petitions didn't have titles. (This means that if a user hovered over these buttons, they wouldn't see a description of what they are.) The buttons now have titles. †
- When a user canceled signing via Facebook, we'd show an error page. We're now gracefully sending people back to the petition signature page.
Events
Updates / Bug Fixes
- The calendar filter on the all events list now uses typeahead search to make it easier to find what you're looking for.
Groups
Updates / Bug Fixes
- Groups can now be marked as unlisted. Unlisted groups are visible with a direct link to the group, but are not included in search results. Please note: events and petitions sponsored by the group are still publicly visible. †
- On the group collection lookup page we showed the distance limit as 30km even if the organization was operating in a part of the world that uses miles. We now update the distance limit based on the organization's location.
Nothing new in VisitThem.
† This feature required new text strings. If you're using the platform in a language other than English, you may need to provide updated translations.
