Platform
New
- We've released a new privacy settings tab, which will give organizations more control over how member data is shared with the public, member leaders, and staff. Notably, this includes the ability to hide attendees' email addresses and phone numbers from event hosts. More information: https://controlshiftlabs.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000889795-Privacy-Settings. †
- Admins can now add labels to member accounts. Please note: this feature also introduced two new permissions – the ability to create new sitewide labels and the ability to add/remove labels from member accounts. Owners will automatically be given both sets of permissions. Users who have the members:everything permission will automatically be able to add labels to member accounts, but will not be able to automatically create new labels. To grant these users the ability to create new labels, you'll need to give them the label:everything permission. The labels that are currently enabled for your organization can be seen in Settings > Labels. †
Updates / Bug Fixes
- We updated our US English translation so US-based members are no longer being asked to organise – instead they'll become organizers. We've also made various updates to our French and Polish translations – a hearty thank you to JB at GP France and Leszek at Akcja Demokracja for their hard work.
- For organizations using Salesforce, we made some changes to our sync. These should not be user-facing changes, but they ensure that the data will keep flowing.
- We've added help text back to the moderation queue, so now you'll know if you should be marking events as approved or good, and what we mean by suppressed. †
Petitions
New
- Admins can now add labels to petitions. Please note: this feature also introduced two new permissions – the ability to create new sitewide labels and the ability to add/remove labels from petitions. Owners will automatically be given both sets of permissions. Users who have the petitions:everything permission will automatically be able to add labels to petitions, but will not be able to automatically create new labels. To grant these users the ability to create new labels, you'll need to give them the label:everything permission. The labels that are currently enabled for your organization can be seen in Settings > Labels. †
- Users who have just signed a petition, whether logged in or not, and who then visit a new petition on the site, will see the one-click signing view on petitions that they have not yet signed. This will make it easier for members to take multiple actions, especially for organizations who are using promoted petitions. Please note: the cookie that we set to remember the user's information will expire after one hour.
Updates / Bug Fixes
- Admins can now filter the all petitions list by label.
- When users are logged into the platform, they'll now see the one-click signing view on petitions that they have not yet signed.
- We investigated and released a fix for non-updating 'last signed by' lists.
Events
New
- Admins can now add labels to events. Please note: this feature also introduced two new permissions – the ability to create new sitewide labels and the ability to add/remove labels from events. Owners will automatically be given both sets of permissions. Users who have the events:everything permission will automatically be able to add labels to events, but will not be able to automatically create new labels. To grant these users the ability to create new labels, you'll need to give them the label:everything permission. The labels that are currently enabled for your organization can be seen in Settings > Labels. †
- For organizations using EveryAction, changes to an attendee's status (e.g. marking the attendee as 'confirmed', 'attended', 'no show', etc. from the event host's attendees list), will be synced to EveryAction and their attendee record will be updated appropriately.
Please note: the syncing of the attendee status requires mapping ControlShift's statuses to EveryAction statuses. This can be done from the Settings page. Default mapping can be set in Integrations > EveryAction > Details. For event type mappings, go to Event Types > choose event type > CRM Sync. † - Organizations using EveryAction can now associate ControlShift event types with EveryAction event types. Within each event type, admins can also choose various settings for how that event type should sync to EveryAction, including the event type's default host and attendee roles. †
Updates / Bug Fixes
- Moderators can now add images to events from within the moderation queue.
- For organizations using pre-moderation, events will not be synced to your CRM until after they've been marked as Good or Approved by admins.
- Moderators can now set an event's event type from the moderation queue. †
- Organizations using EveryAction can now override an event's default host/attendee roles from the moderation queue, which will update how host/attendee information is synced to EveryAction. †
- We've added a new 'no show' attendee status, which is available to event hosts. †
- For organizations using EveryAction, changes to an event's type or host/attendee role, will be properly synced to EveryAction and the appropriate records will be updated.
- Admins can now filter the all events list by label.
- For organizations using EveryAction, event labels will now be added as Tags on the event record in EveryAction. Please note: for this sync to work appropriately, the label must be mapped to an existing tag in EveryAction. You can set that mapping by going to Settings > Labels. †
- We fixed an issue that was preventing the embeddable calendar map from embedding properly on external sites. This is fixed and the embeddable map is embeddable again.
- For organizations using EveryAction, events were not syncing if their description was longer than 1,000 characters. We now truncate before we attempt to sync to EveryAction, so feel free to be as wordy as you'd like on ControlShift.
Groups
New
- Admins can now add labels to groups. Please note: this feature also introduced two new permissions – the ability to create new sitewide labels and the ability to add/remove labels from groups. Owners will automatically be given both sets of permissions. Users who have the groups:everything permission will automatically be able to add labels to groups, but will not be able to automatically create new labels. To grant these users the ability to create new labels, you'll need to give them the label:everything permission. The labels that are currently enabled for your organization can be seen in Settings > Labels. †
Updates / Bug Fixes
- HTML included in a group collection's name was not being properly escaped on the local group search result page. This is now fixed.
- Admins can now filter the all groups list by label.
Nothing new in VisitThem.
† This feature required new text strings. If you're using the platform in a language other than English or Spanish, you may need to provide updated translations.
