Platform
Updates / Bug Fixes
- Infrastructure updates.
- Updated translations. An on-going big thank you to everyone who helps keep our translations up to date.
- Accessibility improvements for site visitors using screenreader technologies.
- Our EveryAction sync now includes the user's language preferences. We've also made a sync log available to admins with the appropriate petitions. This log can be used to confirm that data is flowing correctly into EveryAction. †
- Organizations using MobilizeAmerica can now sync events from Mobilize to their ControlShift all events page (at /events). Users who click these events from the all events list will be brought to the appropriate Mobilize page for RSVP. †
- For organizations using Google Tag Manager outside of Segment, we now support sending custom javascript tracking events to the GTM dataLayer.
Petitions
Updates / Bug Fixes
- The single petition JSON API now includes location information. This can be useful if you're building a micro site or if you're interested in including petition information on your organization's homepage. For more information on this and our other APIs, please see: https://developers.controlshiftlabs.com/.
- We've updated the design of the site directory/petition categories page (/categories). Previously, the petition images on this page were sometimes stretched or distorted. The new page design should fix the image issues.
- We've added a source parameter to petitions that are featured on the homepage. If someone goes to the homepage, clicks a featured campaign, and then signs the campaign, their signature will be tagged with a "homepage" source code.
- When a petition creator's name was overridden, the previous name was still used on petition listing pages, like an Effort's hub page. This has now been fixed, and overridden names or hidden profile images will be respected on listing pages.
- We've moved all signature statistics to the signature stats block and have updated that block to load asynchronously. This change should prevent the signatures tab from timing out on large petitions.
- We've updated the formatting of the 'other decision makers nearby' section of Efforts' landing pages.
- We've made a few style updates to the offline signatures form. In particular, this will prevent one row of the signatures table from falling onto a third page in some locales.
- We're now escaping (sanitizing) all text entered by end users when it's displayed via liquid text. For example, when we display user-entered content in the moderation queue, any HTML will be escaped.
Events
Updates / Bug Fixes
- We now support email confirmation for events. This means that organizations using email confirmation (a.k.a. double opt in) for petitions, can now use the same workflow for events. †
- Admins can now override the event host name that's displayed on an event's page. Admins can also make event hosts non-contactable. †
- Event invitation emails (for groups and petitions) have an updated time and location block, which improves the styling of these emails.
Nothing new in groups or VisitThem.
† This feature required new text strings. If you're using the platform in a language other than English, you may need to provide updated translations.
