Within the ControlShift platform, events are often tied to other assets. The events may be hosted by local groups, be part of a petition campaign, or be one of many events in a calendar. Often, directing users to the campaign, local group, or calendar hub page is the best way for users to find the appropriate event.
However, organizations can also direct users to the all events lookup pages, which show all types of publicly-visible events. This will include native ControlShift events that have been moderated to Good and external events.
The first all events page is at [URL of your ControlShift site]/events. For example: https://demo.controlshiftlabs.com/events. This page uses a list-first format with a smaller map on the left side of the page. Users can search for their location or use advanced filters to find the events they'd like to attend. Because this page is list focused, it may be useful if your organization is primarily organizing virtual events.
The other all events page is at [URL of your ControlShift site]/local. For example: https://demo.controlshiftlabs.com/local. This page is also known as the local organizing map, and includes both events and local groups. This page uses a map-first format with a left sidebar listing of events. Users can search for their location or use advanced filters to find the events they'd like to attend. Because this page is map focused, it can be more visually interesting than the list version, particularly if your organization. has many in-person events.
Please note: for organizations with a DPA in place, the maps will be unavailable by default. You can integrate with Mapbox, if you'd like to make the maps available.
