Updates / Bug Fixes
- Updates to speed up the processing of some jobs during periods of high load. If you noticed or reported that thanks for signing emails were delayed, member exports were taking a while to generate, etc. last week, it's because we were under high load and these jobs were getting stuck in a long queue. These updates should speed up those processes when we're in that scenario again.
- Updated Portuguese translations (h/t to Greenpeace Brasil).
- Infrastructure improvements.
Petitions
Updates / Bug Fixes
- We've made a couple of updates to the categories listing on the site directory page.
First, we've updated the method we use to call the petitions included in a category. We've had sporadic, but repetitive issues with petitions being included in incorrect categories and/or category selections not being updated properly on the petition's signature page. This update should be a long-term fix for these issues.
Second, we've begun including leaderless petitions in category pages. This won't affect the majority of petitions on CSL sites, but it means that petitions included in an effort will be included in their respective category listings, even if they don't have an assigned local leader. These petitions will, however, still be subject to the good-or-better moderation rule that determines which petitions are included in the directory. - We've implemented a new validation for the Facebook page and external site URL fields on petitions. The new validation ensures that harmful scripts or benign, but nevertheless incorrectly formulated, URLs cannot be entered into these areas. While this validation doesn't ensure that the URL entered is live and viewable, it checks that the text entered has the necessary components of a URL and only those components.
Events
New
- Event RSVPs are now sticky! We know that this has been a point of annoyance for organizations who are using the events toolset, but we will now remember people's RSVP status on event pages. Users who have previously responded to an event, and are logged into their account, can now change their RSVP status from the event page.
This will also prevent one user from being listed multiple times in the RSVP list at the bottom of the event page. Additionally, for events with waitlists, when a Yes responder changes their RSVP to No, we'll automatically notify the first person on the waitlist as expected.
Updates / Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue that prevented org admins from quickly moderating events from a calendar's admin page. Now, clicking 'good' will actually set the event to good.
Nothing new in groups or TakeCharge.
