Welcome to 2016! With the holidays we've been a bit remiss in our publishing of release notes. Our resolution for 2016: make weekly release notes weekly again. Here's what we did since the end of 2015.

• We now validate to ensure that the http is present when a petition creator links to a facebook page or external site. 
• We've updated translations for the messages displayed when a petition is marked as ended and/or hidden.
• Org admins can now override the thank you for signing message at the petition level. More.
• We used to send the 'thank you for creating a petition' email before the user actually launched their petition. It was pointed out to us that sending the email at that stage didn't really make sense because the email gives tips about running a new campaign — like emailing friends and sharing on social — which you can't do until you've launched the petition. We now send that email after the petition is launched, which we agree makes more sense chronologically.

Events

• We've updated the icons used on events included in a calendar. 
• We've cleaned up the way that addresses are displayed on calendar and event pages. We've stripped out extra commas and made the display consistent.
