Because most of us were off on Thursday and Friday of last week, this installment of the Weekly Release Notes includes all work from 23 November - 4 December.
Platform
Updates / Bug Fixes
- Better integration for ActionKit users: If you're using ActionKit, we'll be in touch soon(ish) with more information about the newer, shinier, and more robust AK sync.
- If your organization is based in a place where postcodes aren't heavily used, or not used at all, – Ireland, we're looking at you, and New Zealand, we see you there too – we allow you to hide the postcode field on the petition signature form. However, we didn't hide it anywhere else, so people creating an account or RSVPing to an event were still asked for their postcode. Now, when we say the postcode field is hidden, it's hidden everywhere. Consistency!
- Updated translations for Swedish, Italian, German, Greek, French, Japanese, Dutch, Norwegian, and Portuguese. If you see phrases that aren't translated correctly, or at all, send us a support ticket and we'll add them in.
- Some admin pages show more results now (like the landing page, group collection, and stories pages, which now list 20 results per page) – allowing you to rest your "next page" button-clicking finger.
Petitions
Updates / Bug Fixes
- Editable geography names: If you're an organization using geographic collections for efforts or groups, we can now edit the names of the geographies. No more uploading a new file when a district is named incorrectly.
- Remove target collections from efforts: Admins can now delete targets that were incorrectly added to efforts. While making an identical new effort was fun, this is a bit less time consuming – just click the trash can icon.
- When users clicked to share a partner's petition by email, the html tags were visible in the template email. That was not ideal, so we've hidden them again.
- For users sharing by email in Swedish, that modal is now translated correctly. (Or so we've been told.)
- Continuing the theme of sharing by email, the template email we displayed on petitions' signature and manage pages hasn't been editable by org admins – until now. If you want to change the text of that email, you can do so from CMS --> Content ---> Petitions --> Petition share by email text.
- When admins changed the signature count for a petition and then deleted it, the artificially high number of signatures would still be reflected on the admin homepage. Now we recognize the deletion and remove that artificial signature count in addition to the real number of signatures the petition had.
Events
Updates / Bug Fixes
- You can now take your event calendar's map off site: We've included an "Embed" option on the calendar's admin page. Just add the code to any page where you want a map of events to appear and voilà!
