The petition events feature was built to allow campaign creators to run more active and robust campaigns. The petition events tools are not automatically available for all campaigns. Instead, these events tools become automatically available once the petition is moderated to good or above AND has received more than 100 signatures.
Once the petition passes these thresholds, a new Organize Events tab will appear in the campaign creator tools and an Organize Hand-In Event button will appear in the Deliver Petition tab. The help text on the Organize Events page can be customized by the organization (in Settings > Content > Petition Manage).
After clicking the Set Up an Event button in the Organize Events tab (or clicking the Organize Hand-In Event button in the Deliver Petition tab), the petition creator can quickly create an event associated with their campaign. These campaign events look like other events, except that they list the petition name on the event page.

During the petition event creation process, which is otherwise the same as the process for creating other events, the petition creator will have the option of inviting the current signers of their petition to join the event. The invitation will need to be approved by organization administrators before being sent.
Once the event has been created, organization administrators will need to moderate the event. If the event is moderated to good, and our default post-action flows are configured, new signers will be shown an event invitation after being asked to share the petition on social media. (Post-signing settings can be configured for the platform in organization > Settings > Post Action Flow or for an individual petition in the petition's admin > Settings > After Signing).

If the event it moderated to good, it will be shown on the event lookup pages. Users will be able to RSVP to the event, even if they haven't yet signed the petition.
