Please note: the Landing Pages and Efforts features are in the process of being merged. Many of the options available with the Landing Pages feature are now included in the Efforts feature. For more information on Efforts and Landing Pages, please see: https://controlshiftlabs.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/228217887-What-are-Efforts-and-Landing-Pages-and-how-do-I-decide-which-to-use-
If your organization has an idea for a national effort, but does not have any specific local targets in mind, you can use ControlShift’s Landing Pages feature. Like the Efforts feature, the Landing Pages feature allows organizations to run national or international campaigns with many local targets. However, with Landing Pages, all targets are added by supporters – org admins cannot preselect targets when using the Landing Pages feature.
Creating a Landing Page
To create a Landing Page, go to the admin homepage > Pages > New Landing Page.
First you'll be asked to enter a Title for the Landing Page. Please note: the title of the Landing Page will be used in the Landing Page's URL, which CANNOT be changed once the Landing Page is created.
After entering a title for the Landing Page, you'll be asked to enter default petition content. This content is used when a new campaign is created within the Landing Page.
- If you do not want to provide any default content, leave these fields blank and click Save Effort.
- If you do want to provide default content, enter the text in the appropriate fields and click Save Effort. You can provide default text for as many of the fields as you'd like.
- Usually, the default content is editable by petition creators, but if you do not want petition creators to edit your default text, you can lock the field here.
- Within Landing Pages, we allow org admins to include markdown in petitions' what and why fields. However, markdown will ONLY be displayed if the fields are locked at the Landing Page level. This means that when you add markdown to the petitions' default content, you MUST click the lock icon next to the field. When the field is locked, the field cannot be edited. If the field is unlocked, we'll display the markdown symbols, but not translate the text into markdown (e.g. we'll show *bolded text* instead of bolded text).
When you've finished entering default content, click Save Effort. This will bring you to the Landing Page's admin page.
Next we'll look at a Landing Page's admin page.
